The Sr. Social Media Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and monitoring the company’s social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase conversions. The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience including but not limited to e-commerce and technology platforms focused on B2C and B2B audiences. Ultimately, SkillGigs is looking for someone passionate about the world of social media, intrigued with the ping pong communication of it all, and innovative to grow a network effect. This role is our link between our businesses and our social media followers. Furthermore, this individual must be able to work in a collaborative environment, working closely with Product Marketing, copywriters, and other functions. The most successful candidate will have a proven track record of collaboration and marketing success across media platforms. This particular role is slated for rapid potential growth if key metrics are achieved.

Sr. Social Media Manager Job Details:

You Will (Core Responsibilities):

  • Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency 
  • Scale brand and company awareness through various social media channels 
  • Work with brand to create and implement social media strategies monthly 
  • Ability to report on KPIs on a week-to-week basis with management of a monthly scorecard (Focus areas include but not limited to growing Instagram to 10k followers this year with substantial month over month growth in 2023. KPIs include: organic followers, engagement, and CTRs to conversion)
  • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice and terminology 
  • Supervise all aspects of social media interaction between customers and the company, and ensure a positive customer service experience 
  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers through popular social media platforms such as but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, etc.  
  • Ensure progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and others 
  • Develop themes, storylines and writes responses in various social media channels 
  • Ability to clearly articulate creative and content production needs 
  • Engages with potential and existing customers to build brand rapport and address concerns/complaints 
  • Capture new audiences, make friends/followers/fans, create groups, create social media pages, distribute new video and campaign media of marketing activities for placement on blogs, social networking sites, and community-driven sites and platforms 
  • Create educational courses for the company internally on how to be social brand ambassadors 
  • Create policy and procedures of social media use and enforces the guidelines 
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of the monthly editorial calendar which includes monthly sales objectives and initiatives 
  • Researches, monitors and engages in daily trends and community listening to increase brand awareness to retain relationships with followers 

About You (Skills & Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of direct social media management experience 
  • Self-starter with outgoing and results-oriented personality 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field 
  • Superior written communications skills 
  • Meticulously detail oriented  
  • Proficient in using multi-social posting programs such as Hootsuite  
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites 
  • Relevant experience determining a target audience and how to cater unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention 
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these concepts throughout various forms of outreach 
  • Ability to manage and supervise a diverse group of employees and simultaneously work toward many company initiatives at once 
  • Must have a valid U.S. work authorization to apply 

First 90 days to 6 months Focus:

Outside of learning our industry, our mission, and vision, this new leader to the marketing function will expect the following within their first 6 months: 

First 90 days (B2C Focus):

  • Full competitive analysis and audit of existing SkillGigs and SwipeFox social media 
  • Translate audit into immediate strategy 
  • Take on the day-to-day social media post 
  • Testing social media channels to help deliver demand  
  • Tactical roll out of social media campaigns – 
  • Reporting on KPIs 

90-Days – 6 Months (B2B + B2C)

  • Creating the 2023 social media strategy and overseeing the execution of the strategy  
  • Reporting to key stakeholders about initiatives, wins / losses, strategy and input into broader social media ideas
